Children's librarians

Vancouver Public Library (VPL) has a children's librarian in almost every branch. The librarians have extensive training in Early Childhood Development, Children's programming, (book evaluation, online resources, and children's music) and they have all done a practicum before starting a program.

The programs last about 20 -30 minutes, and a session can be attended by anywhere from 3-4 children to over 50! The children's programs aim at promoting enjoyment in books and an excitement in the world of literature and information.

The children's librarians are all different personalities and their programs and delivery reflect this. We at Polliwog think these services are nothing short of excellent - so do the rounds, pick your favorites and see for yourself!
