The Health Unit Drop Ins offer a chance for parents to weigh and measure their baby, meet other parents with children of the same age, and talk to a Community Health Nurse.

At each visit, there may also be a topic, and a (guest) speaker or a presentation. The topics range across a wide spectrum, and can cover e.g. breastfeeding, traveling with a baby, nutrition, infant massage, fitness, poison control etc.etc.

A typical format for a meeting may be: the first half hour - free discussion and weighing and measuring the baby, then topic presentation and Q+A. As these events are drop ins, coming late or leaving early is not a problem!

The group age limits vary by location - check or visit to find out. Normally the Infant groups are from newborn to 8-12 months, and the toddler groups are from 12- 36 months.

These groups are popular meeting places for new parents and many lasting friendships (both for children and parents) have started in these rooms. Regular attendees often go out for a stroll, coffee or a snack together afterwards. Join the club!

We post topics and schedules here at Polliwog as we have access to them - please report any errors or updates!
