Willow Tree Counselling

Willow Tree Counselling is a practice providing supportive and client centered counselling to anyone who feels the need of guidance, support or help. Counsellor Megan Sutherland (who has degrees in both psychology and social work) has a long track record of work within the mental health system as well as workplace assistance. After the birth of her own children Megan has found issues relating to families, parenting and relationships especially meaningful.

Megan's practice of counselling stems from the belief that everyone has the capacity to change their lives and live to the fullest in the present. She works to help people discover these capacities - also finding resources in the society at large to help reinforce the goals of the individuals. The recommended reading list - with insightful comments on each book - is just one good reason to visit Willow Tree's excellent website. Megan has an active meditation practice and approaches her work from a holistic foundation of balancing the wellness of body, mind, social and spiritual condition. She works with people based on where they want to be, and where they want to go - building a relationship of trust and comfort.

Willow Tree has a beautiful little space in downtown Vancouver, and both daytime, evening and Saturday appointments are possible. Clients include both individuals and couples - Megan also welcomes children, teens and young adults.

There is no minimum number of visits required, and often even one session can yield immediate gains.

Megan offers 50 and 75 minute sessions, as well as 25 minute check-ups for return clients. (Costs are $95, $125 and $50 respectively). Coverage may be available through some extended medical programs.

We at Polliwog only list companies that provide great service. It's that simple.

We particularly like promoting local, independent small businesses - they deserve all our support.

We don't charge for listings - i.e. you can't buy your way in. The listings are based on our experience as clients and discerning consumers.

We visit and contact the stores, review their web sites, talk to the Owners and bring you their stories. And we bring you our impressions.
