Kidsbooks

Kidsbooks is a fixture on the Vancouver bookselling scene. With a large store on West Broadway (and sister stores in North Vancouver and South Surrey) it is the 'go to place' for children's books, music, toys and games.

Founder Phyllis Simon, then a librarian with Vancouver Public Library, started the business on West 4th Avenue in 1983. Co-owner Kelly McKinnon joined the company in 1990. Kidsbooks have a vast inventory, and they stock books in English, French, Spanish, and German as well. The store hosts special events with authors and other people of interest.

The Vancouver store has broad aisles easy for strollers, a couple of armchairs suitable for nursing and there are also some toys to play with. Kidsbooks have an excellent website with a searchable catalogue and online sales, and the store has a huge annual sale in January.
