Collage Collage
Collage Collage is a contemporary arts centre for children, and some parents too! Owner Erin Boniferro is a graduate of Emily Carr and a practicing artist, with a passion for fostering and recognizing creativity, and recognizing arts in the now. (Away with the notion of art belonging in a museum!!!)
Erin has worked for years as an art teacher for children as well as an advocate for public awareness and appreciation for contemporary arts. She has worked for several arts organizations including the Vancouver Art Gallery, Richmond Art Gallery and Arts Umbrella.
In 2009 Erin opened Collage Collage, a vibrant and creative children’s art shop, resource centre and workshop space. Located in the tiny park at the intersection of Fraser and Kingsway, the little shop buzzes with classes, drop-ins and birthday parties.
Children’s classes are sold in 12 week packages (registration required, $150), and drop-in sessions are $10 (a set of 8 drop-ins is $60). Birthday parties are $140, up to 8 children can be accommodated. You bring the cake, and Collage Collage provides the space and art instruction with every child going home with a finished art project! (Please book early - these parties are a huge hit!)
The store at Collage Collage has some beautiful books (for both children and adults) and a very nice selection of art and craft supplies to buy to take home. Recognizing the value and range of local talent, Collage Collage also stocks one-of-a-kind handmade artworks and toys from local artists.
What do we say about Collage Collage? Hooray hooray!!
